Mimouna Dance Celebration

April 07, 2018

Mimouna (Hebrew: מימונה‎, Arabic: ميمونة‎,) is a Jewish Moroccan Holiday that celebrates the end of Passover. In Morocco, on the afternoon of the last day of Passover, Muslim neighbors bring to the homes of their Jewish neighbors, gifts of flour, honey, milk, and butter to be used to prepare post-Passover dishes also known as chametz. This is a beautiful holiday that celebrates different cultures living together!

The Pittsboro belly dance community and I were so honored to host this joyous cultural celebration and enjoy live music, great food, henna, social dancing, and performances from guests that came from all around the state!
